Where are they now? 3 of 4 defendants in Upland bribery case are in prison

Four men have been convicted and sentenced in the Upland bribery case.  The mayor had a scheme to shake down two owners of a local business in return for helping them get back their business license.

Where are they now?

Three are in federal prison and the fourth has not reported in.

The Bureau of Prisons has a searchable Inmate Locator, which you can find here.

The former mayor, John Victor Pomierski, has a projected release date of 6-27-14.  With his 2 year sentence and my estimate of possible early release of 106 days, I calculate he was incarcerated about 10-11-12.

Here is the publicly available status of his three helpers, with my calculation of their dates of incarceration.  I’m not sure why I don’t want to mention their names, but will skip that part of the story.

#2 – Projected release date of 4-20-13. With about four months already in custody credited to his 1 year 1 day sentence and possible early release for good behavior, I calculate he arrived at San Diego prison somewhere around 10-9-12.

#3 – Not yet in custody, but he has a Bureau of Prisons register number. I’m guessing that means he has a reporting date. Has a 1 year 1 day sentence.

#4 – Projected release date of 3-2-13. With a 6 month sentence, I calculate he arrived at the Long Beach prison about 9-1-12.

Three of the four have had one holiday season in prison.
